Under-shelf hanging basket (white) for pantry or vanity

Dead air under a pantry or vanity shelf can hold foil, wrapping, or toiletries in a wire hanging basket—no wall holes. Arms clamp or hang from the shelf; some include hardware for a securer grip, still without drilling the wall.

Shelf thickness is the gate. Particle-board shelves thicker than about 1 inch often fail this class.

The problem

People confuse under-shelf baskets with under-shelf fridge drawers and with screw-in cabinet rails. Different products. A matte-black wire basket also has to match your quiet-finish rule—or it becomes the only chrome-black object in a white pantry.

How to measure

1. Shelf thickness. Target about 1 inch or less for many mDesign-class extra-small baskets.
2. Under-shelf clear height. Basket height is often about 6.7 inches—confirm listing (~8 × 11 × 6.7 inch class).
3. Shelf depth and edge type. Rounded nose shelves and wire closet shelves may need a different hanger.
4. What hangs below. Do not crush the blender or the toilet-paper stock on the next shelf.

Renter-safe: shelf clamp / hang, not wall anchors. Remove cleanly at move-out.

Use if: Shelf thickness passes, under-shelf height is clear, and you want lightweight extras off the main shelf.

Skip if: Shelf is thicker than ~1 inch. Skip heavy cans in a hanging basket—use the shelf. Skip if you needed a fridge clip-on drawer (different guide). Screw-in rails that mark the cabinet are a rental skip.

Fit caveat: load lightly at first. A full basket on a hollow wire shelf can flex.

1. Thickness first.
2. Install empty; open the door fully.
3. Lightweight goods only.
